Off Hunters Point, San Francisco, on 17 July 1945.
Note the twin 40mm mount in the enlarged gun tub outboard of the forward goalpost mast. Two such mounts were added forward and two more replaced the 1.1" quadruple mounts aft in all three ships of this class in 1945.
